Brimming with confidence and conceit, Vince Taylor blew in from Hollywood, expecting to take the British rock scene by storm. He had only one problem: he couldn’t sing. “He was the greatest mover I’d ever seen and he had the kind of looks that sent the girls into a trance,” says 2Is Coffee Bar resident Rick Richards. “As a package, he would have been fantastic – if only he’d had a voice.”
